Modern Payments Bolster Clinical Trial Retention
In Onbe's Winter 2025 Clinical Trial Participant Survey, we asked over 1,000 U.S. trial participants about their payment experience

Without consistent clinical trial participation, the development and release of promising treatments can be delayed and become more expensive than anticipated. Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), sites, and sponsors have the opportunity to minimize participant dropout by improving compensation methods. In Onbe's Winter 2025 Clinical Trial Participant Survey, we asked over 1,000 U.S. trial participants about their payment experience and found:
- 44% said that the speed of payment receipt directly impacts their likelihood of remaining in a clinical trial
- 52% agreed that faster digital payment options would make them more likely to participate in future clinical trials
- 42% of respondents cited financial compensation as their primary motivation for trial participation
All organizations involved in clinical trials are motivated to bring treatments to market faster, and creating a more seamless and engaging process for participants benefits everyone involved.
